Moments of Care and Connection: Inside ADORE Mental Wellbeing & Care
Apr 14, 2026
Some stories are best told in images. Moments of quiet reflection. Circles of people sitting together. Laughter shared in between difficult conversations. Creativity unfolding in spaces that feel safe enough to be honest.
These images offer a glimpse into the world of ADORE Mental Wellbeing & Care, a youth- and women-led initiative reimagining what mental health support can look like when it is rooted in community, creativity, and care.
ADORE is building a Myanmar where mental health care is accessible, stigma-free, and culturally grounded for people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities. Through expressive art workshops, awareness sessions, trauma-informed psychosocial care, and counselling support, they create spaces for self-expression, healing, and transformation.

The Faces Behind the Work
At the heart of ADORE is a group of young people who understand that mental health is not experienced in isolation. It is shaped by context, relationships, and lived realities.
Their work brings together people across communities, creating spaces where participants are not just recipients of support, but active contributors to it. In doing so, ADORE is not only offering care, but helping build a culture of collective wellbeing grounded in trust, dignity, and connection.

Spaces of Care and Belonging
ADORE creates inclusive spaces where people across different age groups and lived experiences feel safe to express themselves: environments that are non-judgemental, open, and grounded in trust.
Through shared experiences, participants engage not only in meaningful conversations about their well-being, but also in activities designed to support and nurture their mental health. Alongside creative workshops, ADORE also offers child-centred play sessions, mental health awareness programmes, professional consultations, counselling services, crisis support, and employee wellbeing programmes. Whether online or in person, their approach is person-centred and culturally grounded, offering different pathways into care depending on what people need.

Creative Pathways to Wellbeing
Not everything can be said in words.
ADORE embraces creativity as a powerful tool for expression, reflection, and healing. Through expressive clay and art workshops, journaling sessions, pottery painting, guided relaxation art, and value exploration activities, community members are able to explore their thoughts and feelings in ways that feel safe, supportive, and centred on their wellbeing.
These creative practices open up alternative ways of processing emotion, especially when words feel difficult or out of reach. They also create opportunities for people to share experiences with one another, helping them feel seen, understood, and less alone.

Why This Work Matters
ADORE shows that mental health support does not have to be clinical or distant. It can be community-led, creative, and deeply human.
Their work reminds us that when young people are given the space to lead, create, and connect, meaningful change becomes possible. It also reminds us that care can take many forms: a conversation, a workshop, a quiet moment of reflection, or the simple act of making something with your hands in the company of others.
